Edith Cowan University is a higher learning institute having campuses spread over different locations in Western Australia. After gaining the status of a university in 1991, ECU (Edith Cowan University) has introduced new courses, wider research scope and innovative teaching methods. ECU offers undergraduate and postgraduate study programs to nearly 20,000 students, 20% of whom are from 91 foreign countries.
Edith Cowan University in Australia imparts 400 study courses covered under four departments. It also has research facilities in eight courses. Study programs of ECU are designed in accordance with the current requirement of various industrial sectors and functional demands. The research programs aim at improving the quality of life of Australians in particular and universal populace in general.

The undergraduate and postgraduate study programs imparted by ECU are broadly categorized into four faculties, namely:
- Computing, Science and Health;
- Business and Law;
- Education and Arts including Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts;
- Regional Professional Studies in south western region of Western Australia
Over 400 study courses are covered by ECU, and each of these courses is innovative and designed to suit current industrial and corporate requirements.
The Research programs at Edith Cowan University are targeted at achieving high quality of economic, social, cultural, and environmental advancement of human life. Researches are conducted in close association with leading international institutions, government departments, and important industries. Research areas include:

ECU Campuses
Edith Cowan University has three campuses in Western Australia. These are:
- Joondalup Campus is the headquarter of ECU and includes an award-winning library, a fitness center with updated equipments, a health and wellness building, and an outdoor cinema.
- Mount Lawley Campus close to Central Business District (CBD) of Perth offers both daytime and evening classes. This campus is renowned for its marvelous performing arts and information technology facilities in addition to its fitness and sports center, and students’ accommodation.
- Bunbury (South West) Campus is the largest outside Perth’s metropolitan area. It has on campus accommodation, modern facilities, and small class room sizes.
